Beneath the Clothes
The English say that “Beauty is only skin deep,” the Romanians muse that “Beauty without wisdom is like a flower in the mud,” while the Chinese claim that “If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person.”

Yet, these universal proverbs that extol the inner self only sound good on paper, or when spoken by a wise grandmother. How do we know what really lies just beneath our clothes? How do we see the unseen in ourselves? How do we find out if light and wisdom really dwell beneath all that skin and fabric?

Follow along with Khadija Al-Salami as she films the feisty Najmia exploring the streets of Sana'a uncovered, boisterous and proud of being her free, unfettered self.

Take away the clothes and the shoes. Take away the makeup, the jewelry, tattoos and piercing. Take away the various ever-changing haircuts and hair colors. Take away the perfume even.

What is left of me once I get rid of all my “accessories”? Stripped bare, will I finally discover my authentic, but ever-elusive self? Or is my outward appearance, as I have often thought, actually a reflection of myself?

How do you know yourself? How important of a role does your image play in your identity and the way you’re perceived by others?

for me .. i respect what all people said about beauty.. and i thank god that i have beauty from inside and outside also.. but my beauty from outside is making me feel pain always.. really.. am very sad to say that i hate my beauty in appearance .. and i want to ask something really very important to all people who make me suffer ... why do you make fun of me ! .. from young .. from my childhood ,in school.. they killed me softly.. they become happy when they see me suffering, .. but i dont have any error in my appearance that make people laugh.. !! i dont know the reason whyyy ! is it because am beautifull they make fun of me !!? or because i respect all people even the people who make fun of me..
i really dont know why .. but i think am not lucky enough .. i dont have so much friends.. 3 or 4 only best friends .. and i have a perfect and lovely family that i adore so much..
I have Beauty.. but i dont have Happiness .. this truely what iam .., don't think beauty can give you luck nor properity..
not every beauty person is a perfect person ..but everybody say 2 me be strong they are jealous from you because of that they laugh at you because they dont want to see anybody better than them ..my family .. my best friends.. always tell me that .. but hearrr me people !!! people's fun behavoir about me is killing me slowly .. i have a good self confidence but imagine... they make their hard to destroy my self confidence .. i dont know why.. i dont know if i would believe what my family and best friends say's .. but i dont have any error .. am confused ..
people's fun behavoir makes me tired .. makes me hate my self .. makes me hate life.. i know that i must be strong .. and am trying so hard but imagine.... everyday whereever i go .. i meet people make fun of me .. they laugh whithout any reason !.. imagine .. what somebody would feel in this situation.. everyday ..
but i thank god that he give me beauty from inside . but do u know people .. i preffer happiness .. not beauty and at last i can say .. nobody loves no one..
