AlbaniaGALLERYCONVERSATION
Violence, especially towards women, is still a problem in many families in southeastern Europe, and particularly in my own country, Albania.

The inability of women to erase the system of violence, and their silent acceptance of a horrible compromise, create the façade of a happy family.

I applaud Rovena for her efforts to raise awareness of the issue of familial violence. The only real way out of the cycle of hate is through educating men and women of the harm that this violence causes to not only our women but to their children. Ultimately, individual awareness must lead to the collective desire of breaking of this cycle.
LLOYD E. SCOTT (United States)
Sadly I am not surprised. Though Europe is much different than the US, European Women also are still treated like second class citizens. Violence is horrible, to everyone, especially to women. Something has to be done to end this awful trend where women are still being treated horribly, either through domestic violence or sexual harrassment. Men love women but some of us still treat them badly
Imagining Ourselves Team (United States)
With so many advocacy and awareness programs about domestic violence, why does the problem persist?
