STATISTICS:
The gender gap in Internet use is quickly disappearing. In Thailand for example, women comprised 35 percent of users in 1999, compared with 49 percent in 2000.
During the fall of 2000, Egyptian courts struck down statutes that prohibited women from obtaining passports or traveling without permission from their fathers or husbands.

I am in my late twenties (approaching thirty). I have been able not only to learn many different languages and to travel thoroughly around the world but to explore education in four different countries and academic systems and to work legally within America, Asia, and around Europe.

Nonetheless, this openness and access to unlimited options (geographical, urban, professional, creative, romantic, et cetera) has thrown me, as well as many other women of my generation, into a difficult decision-making position.

I feel that women in their late twenties have been experiencing both strength and confusion — an inner identity quest that is tearing them apart.
