FinlandGALLERYCONVERSATION
Whether naked or decorated, we experience life with our body. Our body carries memories and reacts intuitively.

The power of first impression is especially strong when we encounter things we haven’t seen before. Similarly it is easier to share the experiences of other people because of the knowledge we have in our body. Decorating the body is a way of communication. The pleasure of disguise attracts us. Wearing decoration changes the posture of the body. Our bodies are like mirrors and we react to the messages before we know what we are doing. The intuitive experience is so private that it is shared by all of us.

There's a quote from someone famous saying something to the extent of, "only under a mask does the person show it's true being." I think this is very appropriate for this article. And if so doesn't this present a paradox? What is individuality if true self only reveals itself under disguise? Who's really talking the disguise or the self.
Blair (United States)
I completely agree with this story and it's content. I feel that through decoration a person is about to express themselves to those around them and also become mirrors for themselves. You ever know that type of communication can be created and relationships developed through the decoration of one's body. A body is an empty canvas and our lives, past, present and future are it's decorations.

Thank you for your comments Marcella and Samantha!

Hej Mielikki!
Jag läsar svenska och till och med talar det då och då.

I wanted to express the different roles women have and worked first with a series of paperdoll clothes. I'm intertested in the body and what is happening when you wear things so I created these lifesize clothes.
Mielikki (Sweden)
Hej! Tycker om ditt arbete. Gillar bäst den med glorian i guld. Vet inte om du talar svenska. Anyway, just wanted to say I really like your work. How did you come up with the idea?

How your story touched me. I see my own believes written here - my truth displayed.
