Her answer intrigued me because I think that it reveals something important about our generation of women. We aren't afraid to admit that sex is an important part of our lives, and we aren't ashamed of our naked bodies. Sex, a taboo for generations, is now one of the main topics of conversation.
When I ask women to answer this question, I ask them to search deep within themselves for the answer. Maybe they've never even thought about the question before and maybe they've never taken the time to answer it honestly.
My goals are small, but important. I want to create a dialogue between the viewer and the woman being photographed. This piece in particular encourages dialogue about sex. I think that in Mexico, women should be educated about their bodies and sexuality early on. Young women need to learn about pregnancy, STD's, and the consequences of having sex.
We shouldn't be embarrassed to teach girls that one day they will become women. Instead we should work to appreciate women's bodies and respect what makes women happy.
