Saving the Lives of Mothers
Learn more about misoprostol, a low-cost, highly effective drug that helps prevent mothers dying from post-partum hemorrhage (a leading cause of death).
Just the Facts
If your friends knew how many women died each year from preventable complications of childbirth, they’d be shocked—and they’d want to do something about it. Download our top ten facts on this issue and send it to them in an email!
STATISTICS:
According to a 2006 United Nations Report, each day in Africa 3,100 newborns die, and another 2,400 are stillborn.
According to UNICEF’s 2007 report on Human Development, when women are locked out of decisions regarding household income and other resources, they and their children are more likely to receive less food, and to be denied essential health services and education.

ColombiaGALLERYCONVERSATION
This image is a discussion of my views on women as historical individuals, an attempt at understanding the generations that came before us. In the image three generations of my family are represented.

Women from my generation are ultimately more independent, and today’s life forces us to see the world differently both publicly and privately, we have more opportunities, more responsibilities, but we still hold on to traditional roles. It is important to face both not as a contradiction, but as a challenge.
