My art is at once a personal, public and political exploration. As a second generation Canadian and a woman of color, I am constantly coming to terms with ideas of dislocation and being “away from home.” However, these feelings of dislocation, isolation and questioning of identity occur in many people in this global age. My work enters into ideas of the ephemeral quality of culture and the dynamic flux of identity.
