I see and meet a lot of strong women who are not afraid to voice their opinions, but we can not fight the fight...
Personally, the world I wish to create through my work is to generate knowledge of the Chinese culture, specifically telling stories that focus on women.
Before filming, this was a story my family wouldn’t talk about, but with some moviemaking magic, an ugly story turned out to be something more beautiful than they ever imagined. This is not just my grandmother’s story, but a statement for humanity. We all deserve the chance to be heard in this world.
