As the eldest of four girls, I was always attracted to sports and excelled at them. Throughout high school and college I played at the top level, and this gave me tremendous self confidence as a young woman. That environment really encouraged me to be a leader.
As an actress and because of my time spent in the entertainment industry, I think I am inevitably more aware of my appearance than I ever have been at any other stage in my life. Nonetheless, my sense of self and identity hasn't changed. My appearance is only one aspect of the complex woman that I am. I may be more conscious of how I look now, but I still don't spend hours agonizing over it.
