Children's toys, video games, bomber jackets and camouflage apparel are just some of the ways in which the military has seeped its way into popular culture.
This film born was out of Women of Color Resource Center's (WCRC) Peace and International Solidarity Program and its Gender and Militarism Working Group desire to make militarism tangible and teachable.
The fashion show was marked by three runways: "Camo Nation", "Women in a Militarized Society" and "Fashion Resistance." "Camo Nation" showcased militarization in popular fashion through models dressed in militarized jackets, aviator sunglasses and various camouflage designs.
