At every moment, I recognize the power, brilliance, importance, beauty, and intelligence that the ocean inherently possesses and I believe it is only because of oppression such as sexism, misogyny and racism that we, as human beings, struggle to see ourselves and others as beautiful.
After being hurt by the various types of oppression I encountered as a little girl, I think it is important that I now present a positive image of myself and feel good about who I am - from how my brain works to what my body looks like.
